Community. Support. Resilience
Our Role in Community Safety
When our community needs support, the Hub becomes a place to gather, connect and respond
When activated by emergency authorities, the Jingellic Hub becomes a central point for welfare support, information and community connection.
SHELTER & WELFARE SUPPORT
A safe, accessible location for individuals and families displaced by fire, flood, storms, or other emergencies.
INFORMATION & COORDINATION
A place where community members can receive verified updates, guidance, and welfare assistance.
COMMUNITY CARE
Volunteer-managed support including refreshments, rest areas, and connection to additional services when required.
Community Owned. Volunteer Managed.
The Hub operates under a community-owned, volunteer-managed model, ensuring local knowledge, rapid response, and strong community connection during times of need.
Co-Located Emergency Services
Working alongside our emergency services
The Jingellic Hub is home to two key frontline agencies:
NSW Rural Fire Service (RFS)
NSW State Emergency Service (SES)
Their co-location strengthens local preparedness and enables seamless coordination between emergency responders and community welfare operations. During major events, the Hub supports these agencies by providing:
Staging space for personnel and equipment
Meeting and briefing areas
Logistics support and community interface
A central point for multi-agency coordination
Staging Facility for Emergency Operations
Ready to support emergency operations across the Upper Murray.
Beyond its welfare role, the Hub functions as a staging facility for emergency services during large-scale incidents. This includes:
Vehicle and equipment marshalling
Crew rest and rotation areas
Communication and planning space
Support for extended operations in the Upper Murray region
Its location, facilities, and community volunteer base make it a reliable operational centre during both planned and rapid-response deployments.
Community Strength in Times of Need
The Jingellic Hub’s emergency role reflects the strength and resilience of the local community. As a volunteer-managed facility, it stands ready to support residents, visitors, and emergency personnel whenever the need arises.
